The Australian-based myRep, which went live in March with activities for physicians such as online drug information sessions, quizzes, and samples ordering, is preparing to expand its online offerings for physicans. The portal gives doctors vouchers ranging from $10 to $40 for practice supplies, plus raffled "education grants" of $1,000. Pharmcos pay based on the number of quiz attempts or samples ordered. myRep is affiliated with 2-year-old eClinic, an online pathology service claiming about 4,000 physician users. Saurabh Mishra, eClinic director, told ePharmaceuticals by e-mail from Australia, myRep's rewards are designed within the parameters stipulated by the new [Medicines Australia] Code of Conduct," which has been revised to eliminate non-essential doctor perks (ePharm5 9/5/02). myRep claims 910 registered doctors and relationships with 18 pharmcos. The portal soon will enable doctors to view content customized by specialty and region, Mishra said.
